InDenverTimes.com is rising, Phoenix-like, from the ashes of the Rocky Mountain News.

At noon today (Mountain), disheartened former subscribers of The Rocky will have an opportunity to become founding partners in a new chapter in Denver’s proud journalism history by subscribing to In Denver Times.

A group of former Rocky journalists supported by a trio of Denver entrepreneurs and visionaries have banded together to keep the journalistic voice and excellence of the Rocky alive…

“Thousands of loyal Denver readers and journalism supporters across the country have encouraged us to continue delivering our high standard of professional journalism to the Mile High City,” said Steve Foster, a former Rocky journalist and an INDT founder. “We’re prepared and excited to deliver the highest quality content in an innovative platform; however, to make this vision a reality, we need our supporters – and their friends and families – to subscribe today.”

If their model works they see this as the foundation for cities nationwide who have lost or are in danger of losing the journalistic voice that defines their community.
